#1 Masterbuilt 20075315

Masterbuilt has become synonymous with affordable smokers, but, and we have to stress this, it doesn’t mean they’ve cut corners in order to keep their costs down.

This smoker was one the easiest to clean. Thanks to the redesigned drippan and non-stick racks, it is now even easier.

The Masterbuilt smoker’s operation is simple and includes a handy remote control. This simple, but clever accessory allows you: control the smoker from a distance of up t0 100 feet, which means you can turn it on and off from the comfort of your living room, and change the temperature.

We’ve mentioned that it’s compact and easy to store but what we haven’t mentioned is the 975-square-inch actual cooking space plus the four removable racks.

Considering the size and the cost we think that that’s a whole lot of space, which once again makes this model a great buy.

#2 Char-Broil Deluxe

Okay, we’re just going to put it out there. This is one proud looking barbecue smoker. It’s also very affordable.

If you’re starting out and want to test the waters first, then this is the Model for you.

Let’s get down to the grease and gristle. This backyard smoker ticks all the boxes. Char-Broil is one of the biggest BBQ manufacturers, allowing them to be competitive with their pricing.

It’s insulated, which means it retains heat well but, and it’s not a deal breaker, it only reaches 275°F, which is great for low and slow cooking.

If you’re wanting hot and fast, with temperatures up at 290-325°F, then this isn’t for you. The smoke is moderately strong so if you prefer your chops to be well smoked, you should consider a different model or add more smoke tubes and/or wood pellets.

We love that the Char-Broil Electric Smoker is so easy to use. It’s easy to assemble, to move around and to use. There’s no fidgeting or fussing. It’s got an integrated meat temperature probe which allows you to cook your meat to your preferred temperature, and if you’re not around when it’s done, it shuts down the cooker AND keeps the food warm.

This unit, measuring 725 square inches, is large enough to cook on, and it comes with removable tray. It can also be used in places where space is tight, such as balconies, patios, or rooftop terraces.

When it comes to cleaning, there are a few more components like the glass front door, the water pan and smoker box as well as the bottom tray, however it’s really not a problem keeping it clean. We recommend this product as a serious contender.

#3 Masterbuilt 20078715

One of the Masterbuilt’s strongest features is the amount of cooking space it gives you. It has 975 square feet of cooking space and 4 cooking racks. Amazingly, it can hold 12 whole chickens.

These racks are chrome coated which means that they’re not only durable, but they’re built with good heat distribution in mind. They’re less likely to yield hot spots, which means that your food will be cooked evenly regardless of where you place it across the racks.

It is fully foam insulated, so any heat you produce stays in the smoker. BBQ smoking is dependent on consistent temperatures throughout cooking. Therefore, any disruption to the smoker’s heat levels or air flow could prove costly. Good insulation ensures that this doesn’t happen.

One of the Masterbuilt’s other strongest features is its emote control. This allows you to monitor your smoker’s ambient temperatures as well as the internal temperature of your meat. One of meat smoking’s great inconveniences is that it takes hours, which can make monitoring the progress of your meat tedious. Remote control such as this eliminates a lot of the inconvenience.

It also features a temperature probe to monitor meat temperature. This is a great feature. Meat is extremely unsafe to eat before it reaches the ideal internal temperature of 140°F, so having a good meat thermometer is crucial. Masterbuilt has been a great resource.

It also features a drip pan that collects any juice or grease as your meat cooks. It is located behind a door that you can access easily so you can load and unload it as you cook. This will not significantly affect the internal temperature of your smoker.

You can also add wood chips to enhance the flavor of your food with the wood chip and loading system autolaoder.

The heating element is 1200 watts. This is a remarkable amount for an electric smoker. This is more than enough to maintain high cooking temperatures for the time it takes to cook your meat.
